Getting Involved

  • Engage your representative and senator
    • Write a letter on behalf of your organization to members of Congress
    • Schedule a meeting with your Congressperson’s office to discuss RE-ENERGYSE and energy education policy
    • Invite your Congressperson to join a public event in your community related to energy and education
  • Write op-eds and letters to the editor for your local newspaper, expressing your support for RE-ENERGYSE and energy education policy, and cross-post on different online news sources and blogs;
  • Organize a public event in your community to highlight RE-ENERGYSE and broader energy education efforts, such as a panel discussion, or integrate RE-ENERGYSE into another upcoming event. If appropriate, invite your Congressperson;
  • Gain the support of your university/college government relations office, including support for the upcoming sign-on letter for institutions of higher education, and encourage other efforts related to the university’s advocacy and public outreach;
  • Write an investigatory article on energy education at your school and/or nation-wide, including an assessment of energy-related educational resources, degrees, career development opportunities, etc;
  • Create a video or photo petition, conducting interviews with students, professors, and average Americans in support of RE-ENERGYSE;
  • Get creative! Use creative advocacy and organizing tactics to support the effort;
